Who Speaks for Earth?

This video short is inspired by Carl Sagan’s work as an astronomer, cosmologist, teacher, sceptic.  Great question, eh?

  1. What a beautiful and thought-provoking video. And the thing that strikes me is, look how long ago Sagan said this. But how far have we come in making things better. Not much… She’s beautiful, isn’t she?

    1. Oh that she is! The deep ecology thinkers have been around a long time for sure, but I do think they are having impact. For example, if you take a look at the map of permaculture organisations you can see far the movement has spread from its roots in Australia: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1JBoCMgdhppKwaMQvRwDEV3p8lgs&hl=en&ll=-8.672362029495849%2C111.97025225000004&z=3
      Transition Town map:

and Incredibe Edibles (which was started by two women in a tiny town near here) – unbelievable spread
And that’s just three initiatives to make things better. It took a long time, but there’s a definite awakening.
